📃 Ward Boundary Consultation – Last opportunity to submit your response!
The LGBCE Ward Boundary Consultation closes on Monday 6 July 2026.
As previously mentioned, the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has undertaken a review of electoral arrangements for North Somerset Council. The report published by LGBCE in April 2026 states the following:
“We received a number of submissions commenting on ward boundaries for Nailsea, including from Nailsea Town Council, Councillor Bird and members of the public. Nailsea Town Council stated the importance of ensuring that warding arrangements continue to secure good electoral equality in light of recent and planned housing development”
And recommends:
“ Including the Elms area of Wraxall & Failand within a Nailsea ward best meets the statutory criteria, reflecting the area’s urban character and links into Nailsea… with clear, recognisable boundaries.”
The Parish Council would like to remind and urge residents to respond to the LGBCE consultation on the proposed new ward boundaries for North Somerset. The Commission will consider public feedback before issuing its final recommendations, so this is an opportunity for residents to explain how the proposals may affect community identity, local representation and day-to-day governance.
Local residents are often best placed to describe how their community functions in practice and whether proposed boundaries reflect established local ties.
Every response helps provide additional evidence for the consultation process.

Residents can take part by visiting the LGBCE consultation page for the North Somerset review and submitting their comments through the online feedback form at the following link:

When responding, residents may find it helpful to explain how the proposals affect their sense of community, the effectiveness of representation, and whether the proposed arrangements support electoral equality as well as practical and convenient local governance.
